Meet Patrick
About Patrick
I know Baton Rouge schools from the inside — as a former EBR public-school student, a public-school parent, and someone who has cared about education my whole life. My daughter attends a public charter school, my son graduated through Baton Rouge's Catholic schools, and many in my family have been teachers, principals, and professors.
I'm running for re-election to the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board, District 9, because the work we started is paying off — and it isn't finished. Four years ago, our schools were stuck. Today, East Baton Rouge is one of the nation's fastest-improving districts, with the highest performance score and graduation rate in our history. I'm proud of that progress, and I'm not satisfied: our students still have ground to make up, and I intend to finish the job.
I've worked on education since Governor Mike Foster's administration, and spent 21 years at LSU building collaborative teams behind major projects like Nicholson Gateway and the Charity Hospital Redevelopment. I want to use the leadership lessons of the past 30 years to improve the opportunities we give every single child in Baton Rouge.
Why I'm running
We've delivered real progress for our schools — record results and one of the nation's fastest-improving districts — but the job isn't done. I'm running to keep that momentum going for every part of our community.
Experience
Served in Governor Mike Foster's administration, general counsel for the Legislative Auditor, and 21 years at LSU leading projects like Nicholson Gateway and the Charity Hospital Redevelopment.
Family & community
Married 15 years to Wendy. Daughter in a public charter school, son through Catholic schools. Boards: BASIS Baton Rouge and AMIKids – Baton Rouge.
Stronger schools. Real progress. More to do.
I ran to hold our schools accountable and put students first — and it's working. East Baton Rouge is now among the nation's fastest-improving districts. I'm not satisfied yet, and I'm asking for your help to finish the job.
